The original SUV Crossover?
As early as the 50'd Rover wanted to bridge the gap between Rover and land ROver.
The 1956-58 Series 11 Road Rover.
Based on Rover P4 and 5 components. Alloy body panels, independant front suspension and a 6 cylinder engine. The prroject was abandoned in 1959 and layed dormant till the mid 60's when Spen King and Gordon Bashford began to work on what would become the Range rover.
This is the last of 9 Road Rovers and will be restored by the museum in due course.
